It is not often that the collision of two antagonistic aesthetics manages to bring forward such effortlessly elaborated designs like the ones explored in Domingo Rodriguez’s graduate collection. A quintessential collection founded upon the basic sartorial principles of cut, texture, and subtle detail merges coherently into a modern interpretation of romantic minimalism whilst a stark and neutral palette and slim line silhouettes.

Inspired by the Pennsylvania Dutch, perhaps?

I believe you are referencing the Spanish Durashape Hats. Rookie mistake, Brad.

Why am I just finding out about this blog? Amazing collection. Is there a formal process to suggest designers?

Andrei, welcome aboard. No formal process, just a simple email to contribute@schoolhousefrocks.com. Please include the pertinent details and social networks of the designer in the body of your email.

I don’t think anyone can argue about the amazing designers that you post. I don’t wear mustard pants or top hats rather, but as I would expect, menswear has lived up to its reputation. Being from New York, I’m not afraid to say negative things. When something isn’t good I think it’s important to let people know. A negative or positive review carries a lot of weight.

Matt, please elaborate on “but as I would expect, menswear has lived up to its reputation.”

To be honest, Jessica Lauren, menswear is dead. I see the womenswear posts and I become envious. Women have demanded more and designers have listened. Men collectively have sat idly and when they do speak are still not widely received. What are your opinions? I am interested in your viewpoint because you A. have a way with words and B. have an eye for design.

First, menswear is not dead. There is a conglomerate of underground designers that are dictating street wear trends relatively unnoticed. Though it requires effort, men are afforded options to the likes of womenswear brands presented on this website. If you noticed, when I post menswear collections they are received impartially.

There’s something just perfect about this collection, it’s kind of mesmerising. I did come across the collection online but with no info and wondered who the mystery designer was. I’m fully briefed now, thank you.

I like the style of this collection. This style is how I would like to dress everyday. O.K., maybe with a smaller hat.

Though this style is more accessible to menswear I don’t believe any man I know would wear this….regretfully. It is not that there are not good styles but rather not enough men willing to be adventurous.

Media employs tactics to ensure that women purchase in excess while nearly dismissing the same response from men. Men themselves are being proactive and bucking the trend of the mere white tee and fit jean.

Outfit for the Amish themselves. Or even the fashionable gent in England. Maybe Labrinth?

Allen, I believe that Labrinth would be eager to be put on to this collection.

Whatever connotation people infer from this, it’s still clever.

This collection receives 5 big yawns. There is nothing original about leather sleeved t-shirts and mustard.

Every mustard pant and short was TERRIBLE. I would never wear anything like that. And I am his target demographic.

Ken, where did you infer information on his target demographic?

Simply based off of the male model. Though I am unsure who the demographic is. Any thoughts?

The designs are too feminine and such a turn off.

Does form fitting now translate to “feminine”? I do not see anything womanly or girlish about this collection. The lack a feminine silhouettes is quite apparent.

If I could make a suggestion, venture over to Patrick Um for a juvenile albeit medicated indulgence.

Structured moto or bust. A clean-cut vintage-style collared moto could be nice as well. Never biker, never bomber.
