The ancient use of amulets as a metaphysical protection against various dangers (evil eye, demons, hate etc.) is shifted into our post-modern society and our current fears. One of the main fears in our ״fear society״, is the fear of the “other”, the different, the immigrant, the foreigner – the Alien. This body of work comments on the way we perceive the “other” and put an emphasis on our need to feel protected. As a result, the visual language of the blue series consists of forms resembling alien-creatures, protective elements and materials related to and connected with providing safety.
